PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: October 26, 2026 · Version 1.0

The short version: we ask for as little as possible, we use it only to answer you, we never sell it, and you can have it deleted by sending us one email.

1. Who we are

This policy applies to uptownjavacoffee.com, operated by Uptown Java Coffee & Bar, 2627 N 205th St, Elkhorn, NE 68022, United States. Questions and requests: alexpersonalprivate07@gmail.com or (813) 497-0533.

2. What we collect, and only that

You can read every page of this site without giving us anything. We ask for personal information in exactly one place: the contact form. We ask only for what we need to reply to you.

What the contact form collects
InformationWhy we need it
Your nameSo we know who we are writing back to.
Your email addressSo we can answer you. This is the only way we reply.
Subject (general, private room or catering)So the right person reads it.
Your messageSo we can actually help.
Your consent recordDate and time, the page you were on, and the exact wording of the boxes you checked. See section 4.

We do not ask for your phone number, your home address, your date of birth, your payment-card details or any government ID through this website. If you include extra information in your message, we only use it to answer you.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data through this site — no health, racial or ethnic origin, religious belief, sexual orientation, immigration status, precise geolocation, genetic or biometric data. Please do not send us any of that through the form. If you tell us about a food allergy so we can keep you safe, we use it only for that purpose and only for as long as needed.

Information collected automatically

Our website host keeps standard server logs of requests made to the site — IP address, date and time, the page requested, and browser type. These logs exist for security, abuse prevention and keeping the site online. We do not use them to build a profile of you, and we do not combine them with the contact form. This site runs no analytics, no advertising pixels and no tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy.

3. How we use your information

That is the complete list. We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Consent, and the record we keep of it

Our contact form has two separate checkboxes, and neither one is checked for you in advance:

  1. Required — permission to use the information in the form to answer your message. Without this we cannot send the form, because we would have no basis to write back to you.
  2. Optional and separate — permission to email you occasionally about events and seasonal menus. You can send the form without this one, and it changes nothing about how we answer you.

When you submit the form, we store alongside your message: the date and time of the submission, the page you submitted it from, the exact wording of each checkbox as it appeared to you, the version of this policy that was in force, and which boxes you checked. That record is how we can show, later, when and how you agreed — and it is also how we honor it if you change your mind.

Withdrawing consent is easy. Use the unsubscribe link in any email we send you, or email alexpersonalprivate07@gmail.com with the word "unsubscribe." We will take you off the list and keep only the minimum record needed to show that you asked to be removed.

5. We do not sell your information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone, for money or for anything else. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell sensitive personal data under any circumstances. We have never done so and we have no plans to.

6. Who else can see it

Only the people and companies that have to, in order for the site to work:

ServiceWhat it sees, and why
Netlify (website host, United States)Hosts the site and receives contact-form submissions on our behalf. It keeps server logs and stores your submission so we can read it.
Our email providerDelivers the notification of your message and carries our reply to you.
Nobody elseThere is no third service. Even the typefaces are served from our own domain rather than from Google, so loading a page on this site sends nothing about you to any other company.
Our teamThe manager and owner read contact-form messages. Nobody else at Uptown Java needs to, and nobody else does.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it — a subpoena, a court order, or a legal obligation — or to protect the safety and rights of our guests, our staff or our business. If we ever sell or transfer the business, information may transfer with it, and this policy would continue to apply to it.

7. How long we keep it

Contact-form messagesUp to 24 months, then deleted.
Private-room and catering inquiries that became eventsUp to 4 years, for our business and tax records.
Email list (if you opted in)Until you unsubscribe, or after 3 years with no opens or clicks.
Consent recordsFor as long as we hold the related information, plus 2 years, so we can show the permission was given.
Server logsAs long as our host retains them, typically a short rolling window.

8. Your choices and your rights

Whatever the law requires of a business our size, this is what we will do if you ask:

Email alexpersonalprivate07@gmail.com with what you want and we will respond within 45 days, usually much sooner. We may need to ask a question to confirm you are the person the information belongs to. Exercising any of these rights costs you nothing and changes nothing about how you are treated at the café.

Nebraska residents: the Nebraska Data Privacy Act gives consumers rights over their personal data and applies to businesses that are not small businesses under the federal Small Business Act. Uptown Java is a single-location small business, so most of that act's obligations do not apply to us — but the rights listed above are offered to you anyway, because they are the right way to run a business. We also confirm, as that act requires of every business including small ones, that we do not sell sensitive personal data.

9. Children

Families are welcome in the café, but this website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this site. If you believe a child has sent us information through the contact form, email alexpersonalprivate07@gmail.com and we will delete it. Our evening wine service and any content about it is intended only for guests 21 and older.

10. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, so what you type into the form is encrypted in transit. Access to form submissions is limited to the manager and owner and protected by individual accounts and strong passwords. Still, no website or email system is perfectly secure, so please do not send us card numbers, passwords, Social Security numbers or any other sensitive detail through this form — we will never ask you for those by email.

11. In the café

This policy covers the website. In person: card payments are handled by our payment processor, and we never see or store your full card number. If you choose to receive a digital receipt, the processor handles that under its own privacy terms. Joining our email list in person uses the same two-step permission and the same record described in section 4.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date and version at the top of this page. If a change is significant — for example, if we ever add analytics or start sending marketing we do not send today — we will say so plainly on this page, and where consent is required we will ask for it again rather than assume it.
